“Niente da Vedere”: a Palazzo Beneventano a Scicli Lo Magno artecontemporanea inaugura un nuovo viaggio artistico tra storia e contemporaneità
SCICLI – Venerdì 8 marzo i bassi del maestoso Palazzo Beneventano di Scicli apriranno le porte a un’affascinante esposizione che, come un ponte tra passato e presente, intesserà un dialogo tra diverse epoche e lo farà sul filo conduttore dell’arte contemporanea.
A cura di Lo Magno artecontemporanea, la mostra “Niente da vedere” si inserisce nella complessa identità di questo storico edificio riconosciuto patrimonio dell’Umanità dall’Unesco, un luogo unico e suggestivo che, fuso di stili ed epoche, testimonia la ricchezza della sua storia.
Fucina di bellezza e arte, denso di meraviglie da osservare e vivere, il titolo “Niente da vedere” vuole proprio essere un’ironica dichiarazione sulle molteplici sfaccettature di questo luogo, una dichiarazione che si svela nel connubio tra il racconto che di sé fa il progetto artistico “Bassi Beneventano” e l’arte contemporanea esposta e che porta la firma degli artisti

Gli stessi saranno anche i protagonisti dei progetti “Lo Magno artecontemporanea” che, nel biennio ’24-’25 , con le loro opere contribuiranno a creare un affascinante “trailer” di risorse e collaborazioni della galleria.
Quello proposto durante la mostra sarà un viaggio artistico che inizierà con uno scenario visivo unico, l’esterno del prestigioso edificio che affascina con i suoi esterni tardo barocchi, mascheroni, teste di saraceni e decorazioni sontuose. Il viaggio proseguirà internamente, attraverso i soffitti che rivelano affreschi che narrano il periodo fascista, quando i bassi del palazzo divennero il cuore amministrativo della città di Scicli. Sarà poi la bellezza delle opere presentate l’anello di congiunzione che, fuori dagli schemi, darà senso al tempo. Ognuno degli undici artisti in mostra porterà il proprio linguaggio artistico e la propria visione unica. Pitture e tessuti lavorati e ricamati, installazioni fotografiche e manufatti realizzati con materiali provenienti da terre lontane, saranno tutti tasselli di una narrazione visiva che attraverso l’opera presentata si fonderà armoniosamente con la storia di Palazzo Beneventano che da quasi un anno ospita ____ il progetto artistico “Bassi Beneventano” nato dall’unione di intenti tra la galleria d’arte Lo Magno e la stamperia d’arte Amenta. “Niente da vedere” è apparenza e sostanza; è forma e colore; è passato e presente; è stasi e movimento. Celebra l’estetica contemporanea ma sottolinea l’importanza di preservare e valorizzare il patrimonio storico e architettonico dei luoghi che sono memoria e cuore di una città. È una vetrina per gli artisti, ma anche un’occasione per esplorare la bellezza intramontabile di un luogo che custodisce gelosamente infiniti significati e continua a ispirare e a raccontare la sua storia anche attraverso l’arte contemporanea.
Apertura venerdì 8 marzo alle ore 19.00. L’esposizione è ospitata presso Bassi Beneventano a Scicli (Rg), in Piazzetta Ficili,1 e sarà visitabile fino a domenica 14 aprile 2024, dal lunedì al sabato 10/13 e 16/20.

“NOTHING TO SEE”: at Palazzo Beneventano in Scicli Lo Magno artecontemporanea inaugurates a new artistic journey between history and contemporaneity
SCICLI – On Friday 8 March the roots of the majestic Palazzo Beneventano in Scicli will open the doors to a fascinating exhibition which, like a bridge between past and present, will weave a dialogue between different ages using the beauty of contemporary art.
Curated by Lo Magno artecontemporanea, the exhibition “NOTHING TO SEE” is part of the complex identity of this historic building recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, a unique and evocative place. The mix of styles and ages testifies to the richness of its history.
Hotspot of beauty and art, full of wonders to observe and to experience, the title “NOTHING TO SEE” is intended to be an ironic declaration on the many facets of this place.
There are eleven artists involved and they will be the protagonists of the Lo Magno artecontemporanea’s projects in the next two years:

The exhibition will be an artistic journey that will begin with a unique visual scenario: the exterior of the prestigious building that fascinates with its late Baroque facate, masks, Saracen heads and sumptuous decorations.
The journey will continue internally, through the ceilings that reveal frescoes that narrate the fascist period, when the roots of the building became the administrative heart of the city of Scicli.
A the end the beauty of the contemporary works presented will give meaning to time.
Each of the eleven artists on display will bring their own artistic language and a unique vision.
Paintings and embroidered fabrics, photographic installations and artefacts made with materials from distant lands. All works will be pieces of a visual narrative will blend harmoniously with the history of Palazzo Beneventano.
The Palace hosted the artistic project “Bassi Beneventano” for almost an year. Bassi Benevantano born from the union of intent between the Lo Magno gallery and the Amenta art printing. “NIENTE DA VEDERE” is both appearance and substance; shape and color; past and present; stasis and movement.
It celebrates contemporary aesthetics but underlines the importance of preserving and enhancing the historical and architectural heritage of the places that are the memory and heart of a city.
It is a showcase for artists, but also an opportunity to explore the timeless beauty of a place that jealously guards infinite meanings and continues to inspire and tell its story through contemporary art.
Opening: Friday 8 March at 7.00 pm.
The exhibition can be visited until Sunday 14 April 2024 (Monday-Saturday 10a.m./13p.m, – 16/20 p.m)and is hosted at Bassi Beneventano in Scicli (Rg), in Piazzetta Ficili,1.
